Image shows a grassy field with a few trees in the middle distance and more much further away. There is a layer of mist beyond the first set of trees, hovering above the grass. There are tracks from a vehicle in the foreground and some of these tracks contain muddy puddles. The sky is a pale blue with a few clouds scattered near the horizon. There is a gentle pink glow around them from the sun.

Welcome to Your Winter Transition kit.

Transitions can be hard, even when they’re expected: like the changing of the seasons.

The change from one season to the next is a useful learning point for the other kinds of changes in our lives. I’ve said before that change isn’t like flicking a switch, just like there isn’t a switch at the end of November that takes us straight into Winter.

Where I live, in the northern hemisphere, there are some small signs of autumn as early as August. The sunshine gets more golden at the start of the day, and the end. Leaves start to get tinged with yellow.

There are hints of winter in November: A few frosty mornings. Sometimes, an early sprinkle of snow.

There are remnants of winter in March (and even April). Bare branches remain. Frosts still feature. I’ve seen snowflakes in early April before.

what we want from this time of year.

Often, I want to reflect on the year. To digest what’s happened, and look ahead to next year, and beyond. Maybe this is what you want, too?

It’s a great time to sprinkle some reflection prompts and seasonal activities into your days and weeks. And perhaps even to plan a mini away day for yourself – a do it yourself solo retreat.

With that in mind, I made this kit.

USE THIS TOOL WHEN:

  • You want to feel your way into winter and beyond.
  • You want to snuggle into the seasons, not ignore them, or feel disconnected from them.
  • You want to be able to dip in and out of a toolkit, not have to work through a whole workbook.
  • You want the option to design your own mini away day or solo retreat by picking and mixing from a range of different suggestions, and adding your own flavours.

Download the kit.

The kit is currently in a pdf format, kind of like a slide deck. Download it to browse it on your tablet or computer. You can also print out certain pages if you find them especially inspiring!
